10/16/2022 – 10/20/2022
I’m going to put a few days together since they weren’t super exciting. On the 16th I drove the whole day. I went from Helena, MT to Coeur d’Alene, ID. When I got into town, I stopped to shower and then went to Daft Badger Brewing. The staff was really nice and gave me a few places to check out.
On the 17th I went on a hike around Tubbs Hill. It was an easy hike with good views of the lake. Almost right away I almost got run over by two deer. I heard some rustling in the brush and the next thing I see is two good sized bucks running down the trail right at me. I jumped over and they did a 180 and took off. The rest of the trail was easy and uneventful. When I got around the hill, I walked through downtown. The marina claims to have the longest floating boardwalk in the world. The rest of downtown was a normal cute downtown. After walking around I headed toward Spokane, WA, stopping in Post Falls, ID for supper.
On the 19th I checked out downtown Spokane and some of the game stores. I’m trying to find a couple of out of print games and not having any luck. Downtown Spokane is really pretty. The bridges, dam, and waterfalls are beautiful. There are a bunch of good breweries around the area too. I did a little brewery tour as I was exploring. I went to Brick West Brewing, Iron Goat Brewing, Whistle Punk Brewing, and Locust Cider. Whistle Punk was probably the best brewery of the bunch and I hung out with Cidney at Locust Cider after hours until almost 11.
On the 20th I drove down to what they call the tri-cities, Kennewick/Pasco/Richland. The Manhattan Project National Park is located in Richland. I was planning on taking the tour until I found out that you need to book a week in advance. I ended up grabbing a beer at Moonshot Brewing.
