I’ve been driving nonstop for the last few days so I can make it down to Miami, FL to catch my flight to LA. I was planning on staying up all night and then Ubering in the early morning. I of course fell asleep and missed my scheduled Uber. I woke up, panicked, and was able to get another one early enough to still catch my flight.
I made it to LA yesterday after a long flight and met up with my parents. We took the train to the hotel and crashed for the night. Before boarding today I checked out battleship Iowa. I didn’t do the tour of the insides, but I was able to go on the deck and get close to one of the main guns. Up close the gun turrets are so big. Pictures and even from a distance you don’t get a good idea until you are right up next to one.
I’m taking a cruise through the Panama canal starting today! I’m really pumped about it. It’s a 16 day cruise going down the western coasts of Latin America and up through the Caribbean back to Miami. As we left I got good views of the port. I couldn’t believe how big the port is. There was another cruise ship at the port too that was much larger than ours. My ship is the Island Princess.
After exploring the ship and playing some trivia I went to see a comedian. He went over the stats of the ship and there are around 2000 people onboard, only seven kids, and the median age is 67. It’s all old people on this cruise.
