When I got to Portland, OR it was raining and when I looked at the weather it was supposed to rain for the next week. I decided to go down to Bend, OR to get away from the weather. There are a lot of breweries in Bend including Deschutes. I went on a walking brewery tour on the 25th and 26th.
I started at Immersion Brewing. They had some good beers and more average ones. Next, I went to Deschutes Brewery. This place was nice, this is their second location after they expanded. This is where they produce most of their nationwide beers. I was able to get a tour scheduled for tomorrow too. GoodLife was next. They had a couple good beers and a bunch of average stuff. I walked through the Old Mill District on my way back and ended up at Avid Cider.
On the 26th I started the day with a tour of Deschutes Brewery. I ended up being the only one in the tour. It was nice to be able to ask questions that I wanted to know and not be slowed down by the public. The tour guide suggested a couple more places for me to check out. I went to Sunriver Brewing next. The double IPA and the Stout were really good. I hung out with the bartender and one of the waitresses before taking off. I walked through downtown Bend before going to the original Deschutes Brewery. They had trivia tonight and I had to stay for it. I teamed up with a couple and some girls joined us too. We ended up getting third and I got a $20 gift card.
