Today I spent the day in Cincinnati, OH. I started the day driving around downtown trying to find a place to park. When I was looking, all the spots that looked good were on steep hills and busy roads. I finally found a place next to the soccer stadium. I walked downtown and checked out the Reds and Bangles stadiums. The Bangles stadium was one of the most boring that I’ve seen so far. There was also a marathon tomorrow so a lot of the area was blocked off. Of course I went to the tallest building in Cinci, the Carew Tower. Unfortunately the observation deck was closed.

I hopped onto the streetcar and rode to the brand new Hard Rock Casino. It apparently opened today. Earth, Wind, and Fire was playing an outdoor show, but I didn’t want to stand in the rain for it. There was a cool four piece classic country band that was playing that I hung out for though.

After the casino I hopped back on the streetcar and headed to the brewery district. I was fairly surprised when I got to the start Findley Market with how shady the neighborhood was. I wanted to do the Brewing Heritage Trail to see all the old breweries. It was like they wanted people to revitalize the area, but didn’t put any money into it. It was a very sketchy area and I wouldn’t recommend it until they figure the area out. There was some fun history and neat murals, but that’s about it.

Since I was in the brewery district I /had to check out a couple of the breweries. The first I went to was Rhinegeist Brewery. This place was very cool. I had to walk up three flights of stairs from the street and ended up in a huge warehouse. It also happened to be their Halloween party so everyone dressed up, they had a DJ, and a drag show. After about an hour it got to be too busy for me and I headed to Northern Row Brewery & Distillery. This building was also really cool. It had all the original riveted beams and a 1900’s bar.
