As I was driving around the other day I drove past a sign for the National Museum of the US Army. I looked it up and found that the National Museum of the US Marines was also in the area. I decided to make a day of them today. I started at the Army museum. This is a new museum with a great layout and awesome exhibits. It started out with civilians in the army and the Army Corps of Engineers. The main exhibits started with the Revolutionary and Civil wars, the next was WW1 and the Philippines, next was WW2, then Korea, Vietnam, Cold war, and finally the wars on terror. It was a really nice museum and I recommend it if you are/were in the Army or are into military history.
The National Museum of the US Marine Corps was only a few miles up the road. I think this museum is a little bit older that the Army one, but still quite new. It was laid out the same as the Army museum. The central room was cool with some helicopters, planes, and dioramas.
