Last night I made it to Plymouth, MA and crashed for the night. This morning I looked at what was around and figured I could hang out for an hour or two and bounce. I did a pretty good job of keeping my timeline this time. Plymouth isn’t that big of a town and you can cover the history part pretty quickly. I first went to the National Monument to the Forefathers. This was way bigger than expected, 86 ft. It was supposed to be 150, but they scaled it back. The base listed all of the passengers of the Mayflower.

I was still close enough to walk down to the waterfront. I started at Pilgrim Memorial State Park. Here is where they have the Mayflower 2, Plymouth Rock, Coles Hill Burial Ground, some statues and Brewster Gardens. Leyden Street was the first street in the colony and it’s where they built their houses. None of the originals are there, but there are a bunch from the 1800s and 1900s.

On my way down to the water I saw this little seafood market/restaurant on the water, Wood’s Seafood, and decided to treat myself. I got a lobster roll and clam chowder. This was by far the best seafood I’ve had so far this trip. After I ate I walked along the pier and looked at the harbor before going to the van.

I had just enough time to get the Provincetown, MA before dark. I didn’t think there would be much to see here either, but again I was wrong. I started out going to the beach since it was 68 degrees today and walking in the sand.

On my way into town I saw two coyotes on the road. They are apparently a thing here. My first stop in town was the Pilgrim Monument then I headed to Commercial Street. Commercial Street was a tiny one way street with all these different shops on it. I found an alley that had all of these wacky paintings that was really cool. I found a awesome dive bar, the Governor Bradford Restaurant, that had 50 cent wings. I couldn’t pass up a deal like that so I went there for supper.

After supper I cruised back to the mainland and down to Providence, RI for the night.
