On the 17th I took a walk around downtown Kissimmee, FL. They had a really cute downtown area with murals and a bunch of new businesses. I walked up and down the whole main street and then over to the lake. It’s a very pretty area.
Yesterday I checked out Old Town, just off the main highway in Kissimmee. I really like this place. It’s a lot like downtown Las Vegas. It’s set up like an old style downtown area with shops, bars, and restaurants all on a main street. The main street is walkable and closed to cars. They have regular cruise nights too. On the East side is an attached amusement park with a bunch of rides.
I found a bar, Old Town Tavern, that does 2-4-1’s during the week. it was dead when I got there. I went to the bathroom and the whole bar was full when I came back. All of the groups left after their pair of drinks, but I hung out with the bartender, Talis. He’s from Brazil and a really nice guy. We talked until close and then I was able to stay in their parking lot overnight.
Tomorrow I’m flying to Las Vegas, NV to meet up with Liz and hang out for a couple weeks. I probably won’t be posting until I get back, but you never know.
