I’m combining the last two days since all I did was drive today. Providence, RI is really cool for history nerds. There isn’t a lot there except for old houses and some tall buildings downtown. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a huge history and architecture nerd, but I want a bit more excitement.

There were a few highlights. First I went to the HP Lovecraft house. For those out of the know, he is a horror writer from the early 1900’s . I then went to Brown University. University Hall is the oldest building on campus and was used in the Revolutionary War. After that I went to Harry’s Bar and Burger, rated best burger in the world etc. They were wrong. Parlor still has the best burger. Finally, I walked around the hill that has all the oldest houses. They range from being built in the 1700’s to the 1850’s. The Halsey house is for sale and worth $4 million.

I couldn’t find anywhere else interesting to go to so I hit up Narragansett Brewery. I had to get one brewery in in RI.

I headed out of Providence and went to get my next pin from Hard Rock. There was one at the Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut. This casino was huge. This place looked like a castle in the middle of nowhere. It took me over an hour to walk around it. The Hard Rock there had some of the best memorabilia of any that I’ve been to.

I found out that Mohegan Sun casino was around 10 miles down the road. I wanted to check this place out since I’ve seen it on TV with the Barrett Jackson auction and pool tournaments. This was an even bigger casino than Foxwoods. It was way nicer too. The arcade was actually really cool too. It’s rare to find a good arcade these days.

I stayed in the Mohegan Sun parking lot and today blasted off to NYC. I stopped at New England Brewing Company to get the one in. This place had a good variety and got packed towards the middle of the day.

I bounced and ended up in NJ where I found a place to shower and park.
