For my first day in OKC I did some site seeing and brewery hopping. I first went to see the state capitol then I was going to go to this park that had food trucks, but when I got there I found it was closed for the season. On my way to the park I checked out the Gold Dome building and the Milk Bottle building. I hung out at this dog park that was close for a while then I decided to start hopping.
The first place I went was Elk Valley Brewing. They had some ok beers and the beertender didn’t want to have a conversation. I don’t recommend. Next I went to Twisted Spike Brewery. They had a lot of good stuff on tap and I got to talk to some of the other patrons asking what there was to do. Next was Prairie Artisan Ales. This place focused on sours, but they did have a couple beers I liked. I debated on staying for trivia, but decided against it. Prairie was in this old warehouse that was converted into offices and a brewery. It was really neat. The last brewery I went to was Anthem Brewing Company. This place was great. I missed the crowds that were there for trivia, the beer was awesome, and the guy working was a blast to talk to. There was an Asian food truck outside and after the rush the owners and employees came in for a drink. I got to talking with them and they ended up bringing in some of what was left for everyone to eat for free. This was my favorite brewery in OKC.
