Today was my last day in NYC and the day of riding trains. I had a lot of the city to cover. I need to go to Brooklyn to see the Mets stadium and the Worlds Fair, then up to the Bronx to see Yankee Stadium, then back down to Manhattan to go through central park, then finally back to New Jersey. I probably spent four hours on trains.
Flushing Meadows, where the 1964 World’s Fair was held was really nice. It’s the second largest park in NYC. I didn’t know they had stadiums there, the National Tennis Center being the largest.
I wasn’t planning to spend as long as I did in Central Park. It’s huge and I walked the whole thing. It was worth it though after sitting all day. The Guggenheim museum is right next to the park too. They had the ice out so there were a ton of people skating.
Overall I enjoyed my experience in NYC. I would visit here again with people. I wanted to go to some of the museums, go to an observatory, and maybe see a show, but that all costs money. Next time, when I have a job, I’ll do them.
After getting back to the van I went to the gym to clean the city off me and went out to the Medowlands to see the Giants/Jets stadium. I didn’t know there was a concert venue and indoor amusement park right next to the stadium. It’s a whole thing. I also broke 100,000 miles on the van.
