Last night was pretty crazy.

The weather was so nice here yesterday that I took a walk around noon. I was expecting the Falcons to crush the Vikings, so I left at halftime. I walked around the lake that I was parked by, the discovery walking trail, then through a golf course. I didn’t expect to go over five miles.

When I got back to the van I changed and then went to a sports bar to watch the Eagles game. When I got there I sat at the bar next to some elderly lady. She was driving me nuts sucking her gums. Thankfully she left at halftime. An older couple sat down in her place shortly after she left.

Everything started out fine and then the woman started uncontrollably shaking. She started getting upset about it and the guy tried to clam her down. I’m guessing that she had the beginnings of Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s disease. After a little while she started to get angry and began yelling at the guy. He couldn’t calm her down and went out to his vehicle. A few minutes later she was perfectly fine and asked me to walk her outside. I got her out the door and she made her way to the vehicle and they left.

Before the couple left there was another older guy sitting further down the bar. Out of nowhere there is a clatter of a metal bar stool hitting the floor and this guy is laid out. The alcohol lessened his fall and he was fine, but it was still exciting.

After the game was over I went over to the pool tables to see if I could strike up a game. I found some guys that wanted to play. We talked, played a few games, and watched the late game. I went back to the bar and a girl, around my age, was talking with the whole bar and we started a conversation. I hung out with her and her cousins for a while until they left.

There was a group of people, a couple and a single guy, outside smoking so I asked if I could hang out with them. They agreed and we talked for a while. I started talking to the girl as they guys were talking about something else. She talked about her job and was surprised that I knew what she was talking about. They finished smoking and we went back inside.

We sat down at the bar me, her, then him. The girls and I kept talking and the guy started getting jealous. They mentioned that they were flying out in a few hours, going back to Portland. Here is where it got weird. They guy got into the girls face and got really domineering.

He accused me of flirting with her all night and they went outside. I got up and started talking to someone else, just to get away from them. A few minutes later the guy blasts in through the door and accuses me of drugging the girl and that she is freaking out outside! The bartender tells me to completely ignore him and she kicks them out.

The whole time he’s yelling at me I turned my head away and pretended that he wasn’t there. The bartender was thankfully on my side. They stayed outside for a while and then bartender asked me to leave just in case they come back in. I agree, finish my drink, and by the time I got outside, they were gone. Then, I went to the van, cooked a pizza, and went to sleep.

It didn’t make any sense that I would drug her. I knew they were leaving shortly that evening, she never had a drink until the guy ordered one for her, she was hanging on him all night, and he was sitting there having a conversation with us. The way he talked to her at the end made me think it was a mentally abusive relationship. It all worked out for me though. It was a fun, strange, and interesting night.

Here are the pics from the breweries that I’ve visited over the last couple weeks. I really liked the South Denver area. There is a great heavy metal scene down there and its very walkable. TRVE was an awesome heavy metal themed brewery. There is a venue down there too with really inexpensive shows that I might check out too.

One more spot that I really liked was Stem Ciders downtown. I forgot to get pics of this place, I’ll have to the next time I’m downtown. The bartender was super nice. We talked for over an hour about how she wanted to build a van and do the vanlife thing. I unfortunately forgot her name, but I told her that she would make the blog. Here is your shoutout Stem Cider bartender.
