I started my day by going to the General Patton Memorial Museum. It was recommended to me as a good tank museum. They had a couple of interesting vehicles, but they mostly had a bunch of M60 tanks in various states of disrepair. The part I liked the most was a topographic map of the whole Southern California area. All pics are below.
After the museum I was really close to the South entrance of Joshua Tree National Park. When I got in I didn’t really know what I was getting into. There was mostly just a bunch of joshua trees and desert. There was a really pretty oasis that I checked out. As I got further in I found piles of huge rocks. I pulled over at skull rock to do some hiking. I hiked to the most popular locations and it was all very similar, lots of piles of rocks. I hiked for a few hours and got back to the van as it got closer to sunset. I drove through the rest of the park back up to the North entrance. Overall it wasn’t the best national park. See it if you have time, but it is one of the skippable ones.
