Last night went down to West Palm Beach to meet with one of my friends that is going on a cruise from Miami. I wanted to stop at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino before her flight got in. This is probably the largest Hard Rock Casino since they are headquartered here. The hotel looks awesome and comes with an equally awesome price, $400-$700 per night.

Christine got a hold of me when she got to her hotel. I was about 40 minutes away according to Google Maps, but the terrible drivers here decided to get in a crash and shut down three lanes of the interstate. They decided to walk over to the Bayside Marketplace while i finished getting there. I had already kept them waiting an hour so I ponied up the $10 to park at the mall. The Bayside Marketplace is this big outdoor mall/entertainment area right in downtown. The Hard Rock Cafe was here so I was able to get a pin while in the area. I was still in timed parking so I went to go move the van to a place where I could park for the night then took the metro train back to the mall. The drinks here were crazy expensive, $15 and up at most places. We hung out here for most of the night and then I walked them to their hotel.

It was about 3AM when I left and the battery in my phone was dead. The train only ran until midnight and their hotel was in the opposite direction of the van. I knew about where I had to go, but i had to get an initial direction. I asked the valet and he pointed me in a direction. I walked for about half a mile before figuring out that he gave me the wrong direction and I had to double back. He pointed me West when I needed to go South. I finally found the interstate and got going in the right direction. I was able to power my phone up for a few seconds to memorize the first couple of turns that I needed to make. As I got closer I wound up at the river. I knew I had to be on the other side, but there were only interstates on the path that I was following. I had to turn back to get to the last crossing that I saw. Luckily I found the train tracks and was able to follow them to my original station. Once there I knew my way back to the van. I ended up walking at least five miles in downtown Miami on a Friday night at 3AM.
