I hung out with my cousin Antoinette for about a month. It was fun reconnecting and helping her with her new house. I left today on my way down to Las Vegas, NV to meet up with my friend Ashley. It’s going to be her first real time there.
I stopped at the Oroville Dam on my way to Reno. This is the dam that had the spillway failure in 2017.
I got to Reno, NV around 4PM, went to Walmart to get an oil change before heading downtown. I checked out the casinos and stopped at the Eldorado. I watched people play Pai-Gow poker for a little while then went to The Brew Brothers for a drink. The brewery was right in the casino. I put $20 in the video poker machine at the bar and accidentally max bet my first bet. I ended up doubling up on that one bet and cashed out. I also watched Labron James take the record for the most points scored in the NBA.
The strip in Reno is way shorter than in Vegas, so I looked for a brewery that was open late. I found The Brewers Cabinet was open until 11. I walked across the river over to the brewery. Reno is way nicer than I remember. I remember it being really dirty and gross. This time it was clean with a really nice river walk area.
I chatted it up with the bartenders at The Brewers Cabinet and found out where the cool spots were on a Tuesday night. They pointed me to Our Bar and then back to the casinos. I was only able to make it to Our Bar for last call. I finished my beer there and went back downtown to Club Cal Neva.
I found a spot to sit in the sports book to look something up and was promptly kicked back to the bar. I stumbled upon this huge Budweiser stein collection that the casino purchased from a guy. I made my way back to the bar and watched pro bowling when this mom and daughter came up and ordered. They started talking about playing pool and I asked if they wanted to hang out and shoot a few games. We ended up playing until almost 3:30AM. By this time I was ready for bed and went back to the van.
