Today I finished up San Jose and checked out San Francisco, CA. My first stop was at the Google campus. I parked by the amphitheater and walked all around the main campus. The giant convention center was still under construction. It will be a very cool building once finished. The campus had bicycle stations all over so the workers can get around easier, the campus is huge.
I drove to Anchor Brewing in San Francisco next. I didn’t go to their main brewery, but the tap house was cool. Anchor is one of the oldest breweries in the country that’s still running. It originally started in 1896.
After the brewery I went to downtown to Oracle Park, where the Giants play. I parked South of downtown by the piers and took a tram to the baseball stadium. I checked out the financial district, Salesforce park, then went to Chinatown for an early supper. I went to Sam Wo Restaurant for some amazing Chinese food. The Salesforce towner is the tallest building in San Francisco and they have a park on the roof of the attached transit center. There was some beautiful views of downtown and they had a bunch of local plant life around the walking path.
After supper I walked by the Transamerica Pyramid on my way to Union Station. I checked out the Union Station area, there was a really good view of the Bay Bridge and downtown from the pier. Next, I hopped on a tram to Pier 39. I first went to the Hard Rock Cafe to get a pin, through the touristy shopping area, and to the sea lion platforms. The sun was setting and I got some awesome pics of the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz Island, and downtown. It was dark by the time the tram came so I skipped going to Fishermans Warf and just went back to the van. I drove over to Oakland to spend the night.
