Today I explored Santa Cruz, Monterey, and Carmel by the Sea, CA. I started at the beach and walked out on the pier. I then walked the boardwalk through the carnival and followed the river back to the van.
Monterey was my next stop. I walked through historic Monterey through all of the original homes and buildings. Then I went to Alvarado street and stopped in Alvarado Street Brewing. On my way out I drove through Cannery Row and parked next to the beach to make supper.
My last stop for the day wasn’t really a stop but a drive through Carmel by the Sea. I took the Scenic Road along the shore. I wish there were places to stop so I could take pics, but it was a tiny, twisting road in a residential area. There were so many beautiful houses here. I past the the Clinton Walker House – Frank Lloyd Wright and the Butterfly house among so many others. It was very pretty.
I wanted to take the Pacific Coast Highway down to LA, but it was closed like always at Big Sur. I took the detour down to Paso Robles, CA and stopped for the night.
