Today was another fun museum day. I went to the US Army Aviation Museum on Ft Novosel, formerly Ft Rucker. When I got there I thought I’d blow through it pretty quickly. I was happily surprised to find that they had a lot of prototype and famous aircraft.
Some of the most notable are both of the RAH-66 Comanche prototypes, an AH-56 Cheyenne prototype, one of the YUH-60 Blackhawks that crashed in Mogadishu during the Blackhawk down incident, a Davey Crockett atomic gun, the first presidential helicopter, the Boeing Vertol BV-347 prototype, and a few beautiful dioramas. Unfortunately both of their Apache’s weren’t on display.
