The last few days I’ve been hanging out, using my Harvest Hosts subscription, and checking out breweries.

On the 27th I Idyll Hounds Brewing Company and Grayton Beer Company in Santa Rosa Beach, FL. Idyll House was a cute little brewery and Grayton had a huge building, but they were dead. I found out that they were moving to an even larger facility this summer.

After that I drove over to Pensacola, FL. I was planning on golfing at golf course I was staying at, but they were expensive and had a dress code. No thank you.

On the 28th, I drove to Doc’s Hop Shop, where I was spending the night, to check in. They were still closed when I got there, so I just hung out until they opened. I had a flight and a pint then headed to Perfect Plain Brewing Co. I had another flight here before going back to Doc’s.

When I was out walking around I found my favorite spot in Pensacola, McGuire’s Irish Pub. This place was awesome! They have over a million one dollar bills stapled to the ceiling and walls. They have tons of Blue Angels memorabilia including a bunch of flight suits. The Blue Angels are based out of Pensacola so they had something from every pilot in the last 40 years.

Their wine cellar is very impressive too. They have a capacity of 8000 bottles including at least one over every year of Chateau Mouton-Rothschild artist series. These are bottles that famous artists designed the labels. They started bottling these in 1945 and McGuire’s has at least one of each year. Some of these bottles retail for up to $6000. A complete collection is worth well into six figures.

On the 29th I went to the library to just chill for a day. Today I gave plasma then went to Panera for my last free iced tea. I did my homework for the week then went back to the library to play games until trivia started. Trivia was at Doc’s Hop Shop. I missed the first round, but I won a free beer.

After trivia I went back to McGuire’s Irish pub to spoil myself. I ordered a prime rib, soup and mashed potatoes. The steak was excellent. I don’t think I’ve ever had bean soup, it was very good. The meal was expensive, but I have to splurge occasionally. When i was finishing up, a guy sat down at the table next to me. I overheard his name and order, his name was Cody and he ordered a prime rib with soup and potatoes. It was incredibly coincidental.
