This morning I gave plasma and then went to the library to stay out of the heat. I hung out there until they closed then I went to Blue Owl Brewing to use my passport. The brewery was dead, but the few of us there were talking and having a good time. I had a few beers and was going to get a growler to go since they were super cheap. When I went to check out, the guy just rang up the $5 growler fill. I absolutely accepted, tipped well and left.
I found a bar that I really wanted to check out, The Jackalope, but it was getting late and I was just going to chill in the van. I found a spot to park nearby and saw that bar had another location just down the street. I decided to check it out. It was totally worth it. This is my favorite bar in Austin so far. The main bar has a huge central bar, pool tables, and a karaoke room.
There is a huge outdoor plaza with seating, bandstand, cornhole, and some coin op games. I was just going to hang out in the main bar with the AC, but as I was walking around outside I saw another bar. They had another bar on the opposite side of the plaza called The Copperhead Club. This is were I hung out most of the night. It was more intimate, they had a DJ spinning records, classic MTV videos on TV, more pool tables, and good looking bartenders.
I left the Copperhead Club and went back to the plaza for a while. I found a person that wanted to play cornhole with me. We played for a while, not keeping score, and I am pretty rusty. I found out that they do wing nights on Tuesday’s, so I’m going to have to come back and check that out. I will always come back to this bar every time I’m in the area.
