I’ve just been bumming around Austin the last few days trying to stay our of the heat. On the 24th I stayed at an RV park just outside of the Circuit of the Americas racetrack. This is where they they have the Texas F1 race and a bunch of other races. I walked to the track but by the time I got there the race was over. It was just some MotoGP track time, not a real race. It was a lot further than I thought though. The entrance is a mile and a half past the gate. The amusement park was all under construction too, so the place was dead.
I made friend with the people that live at the RV park and hung out with them all night.
Today I did some brewery hopping. I went to some of the buy one get one spots on my passport.The first stop was Fast Friends Beer Company. They had a really nice building and outdoor area. They even had a dog park.
My second stop was WhichCraft Tap Room. This was more of an offsale place, but had a bunch of local beer, wine, and others on tap. I go there for two dollar off happy hour and they had a mystery beer promotion. In this promotion you roll a 30 sided die and whatever number came up you get a pint of that tap for $4. The staff was really nice here too and I talked to them when they had free time.
Next I went to 3rd Level Brewing. I loved the theme here. It was all anime and video game themed. They only had one or two styles that I wanted to try though.
I finished my night off at the Roadhouse Bar. This was a dive bar with $3 beer and free pool. I ended up playing pool all night and a storm rolled in so I sat on the patio watching the lightning.
