After leaving Pensacola, FL on the first I kept working my way toward Texas. I skipped Alabama and went right to Louisiana. I stopped for the night at Abita Brewing Company. I’ve actually had their beer before. They distribute around the country. They are a Harvest Host also so I spent the day hanging out with the staff watching the World Beer Cup judging and then playing trivia.

On the second I drove to Arnaudville, LA just outside of Lafayette, LA. My Harvest Host for the night was Bayou Teche Brewing. This was a really fun brewery. They had an attached pizza place that had a bunch of cool art. They also had an arcade with some classic machines. I was definitely in the heart of Cajun country. Some of the staff was even speaking Creole. I took a walk down to the bayou before it started raining and then called it a night.

Yesterday I drove to Lake Charles, LA. On my way I stopped at Adopted Dog Brewing in Lafayette, LA. They were on my Hop Passport so I figured why not. When I got to Lake Charles I went straight to the beach to try out my new beach equipment. I ordered a little sun shelter, air pump, anchor bag, dry bag, and cooler. I tried everything except the cooler, I didn’t see a liquor store on the way. Everything worked great. I had a spot to get out of the sun on the beach. I was able to inflate my tube quickly. The anchor kept me in place in the water. Everything I need for a beach day.
After showering I went to Crying Eagle Brewing Company to watch the UFC fights. They are a really nice brewery that does live music outside all the time and they have a huge seating area with murals inside. I saw some other campers parked there so I figured I could stay there too.

I wanted to take some more pictures of the brewery, but they are closed today. After lunch I drove to Millennium Park and walked around downtown. Lake Charles is a cute city with some nice buildings and a couple of big bridges over the lake. I hung out in the park for a while after my walk and played on my laptop in the shade.
