I got up early this morning so I could get to the con for all the events. I hopped on the train and got to the convention center. As soon as I got to the door there was a sign posted saying “Weekend and Saturday badges SOLD OUT.” I was so disappointed. There was no way of me knowing they would be sold out beforehand, but it still sucked. I drove an extra two hours out of my way for nothing.
I decided to save my day and walked around downtown and found Metazoa Brewing. They were having a little craft market and food truck while I was there. Since I skipped eating before going downtown I got a bacon wrapped hot dog and loaded tots, it was really good. There were so many dogs at this brewery too. I got a flight and a pint then took off.
There were a couple more breweries on the same street so I figured why not. I went to Sunking Brewery next. There wasn’t anything here that I liked and I bounced pretty much right away.
The last brewery I went to was St. Joseph Brewing. They converted an old Catholic church into a brewery. They had amazing beers too. I hung out here for quite a while talking with the staff, GenConners, and locals. It was still fairly early and the staff recommended Dorman Street bar to go play pool at. I walked over there and had a blast playing pool with all of the locals all night.
