Today I started my day checking out Royal Gorge Bridge Park. The bridge that crosses the gorge was the highest bridge in the world until 2001 and the highest suspension bridge in the world until 2003. Check out the specs here. It was very pretty.

I only spend a little while at the bridge. I wasn’t going to pay the $30 or so that tickets were to go on the bridge. From there I drove to Browns Canyon National Monument to do some hiking.

I hiked one of the OHV trails. I wanted to do a loop that didn’t take too long to hike. The hike out was pretty easy once I got past the initial elevation change. The back part of the loop was completely different though. It was less of a trail and more of a backwoods hike. I had to keep looking at my GPS to stay on what they called a “trail.” I finally made it back to the main trail and got back to the van.

After my hike I needed a break and Mt. Princeton Hot Springs Resort was only a few miles away. The resort was beautiful. The hot springs came out next to the river into little pools. All of the pools were pretty cold, but I found a spot to hang out in until most of the crowd left. I moved to the man made pool and that was amazing. I sat and watched people for a couple hours and headed up to Breckenridge, CO.
