For the last few weeks I’ve been in Chico, CA visiting my cousin Antoinette. I mostly helped her not go insane dealing with her house, parents, and kids. The most exciting thing that happened was I burned the shit out of my arm. I was pulling some bacon out of the oven and it tipped a little too far back. I dumped 400 degree grease down my thumb and wrist. I set the pan down, wiped the skin off my arm, and stuck my arm under cold water for 10 or so minutes. It looked gross the next day, and for the next week and a half.
On my way back to Florida, I had a nine hour layover in Denver, CO. I was originally going to just hang out in the airport the whole day, but I couldn’t find anywhere good to eat. I took the train downtown and walked through their Oktoberfest event. There was so many people in this four block area. I didn’t want to wait a half hour for a brat and then another half hour for a beer so I didn’t stay.
My first stop was at Los Chingones, they had a really good birra taco. Next was Cart-Driver. I was just going to get a drink here and move on, but I ended up sharing a slice of pizza with the guy next to me and then hanging out with this couple after he left. The couple ordered one of their appetizers, canned seafood with bread and other stuff. All of the food at this place looked really good.
The next place I went to was Our Mutual Friend Brewing. They were pretty cool with some good beers. On the way to the next stop I walked by some cool murals. 14er Brewing was my next stop. The brewery was cool but, the beertender wasn’t friendly at all. I only had time to get one here. My last stop before the flight was at River North Brewery. I only got one here too. The beertender here was really fun though. I would’ve liked to hang out here longer.
