This morning I stopped a the Steel Plant Museum before leaving Buffalo, NY. The museum was really interesting. It was a combination steel and railroad museum. I was most interested in the steel part. They focused on the Bethlehem Steel Mill that was the main employer for Buffalo for many years. There were also other smaller mills that were in the area that were acquired and shut down over the years. I took pictures, but I don’t know what happened to them, weird.

I drove up to Rochester, NY after leaving the museum. I found out that the Genesee brewery was here. I had to stop in and get a beer. Their store was also a museum for the company. It was done really well. After looking around for a bit I went upstairs to the taproom for a flight and a pint. Before I left I saw they were having a sale on their 12 packs. I got a pack of their original for only three dollars along with sticker.

I wanted to walk around Rochester, but it was raining. It was still early in the day and there were a bunch of breweries all along the finger lakes that I could get 2-4-1’s at. I went down to Stumblin’ Monkey Brewing Co. in Victor, NY. The bartender was brand new, but the brewer and he were fun to talk to. Next I went to The Irish Mafia Brewing Co. in Bloomfield, NY. This place was really trying hard to be Irish themed. The bartender had the classic “Southy” Boston accent. This place was dead so I got out quick to hit up Twisted Rail Brewing Co. next. They had a neat brewery in what looked like a big old house. There was a band playing that was actually pretty good. I was close to WeBe Brewing Co. and I knew I could make it for last call. I stayed in their parking lot for the night.
