Today I took a tour of Salt Lake City, UT. I hopped on the train to Temple Square and started one of my scavenger hunts. It took me to an old Zion Bank, the library, the Leonardo, City Hall, up through the LDS area, and finally up to the capitol.
Most of Temple Square was under construction. They had most of the temple torn apart. The Joseph Smith Memorial Building was beautiful.
I was able to go into the capitol building here. Fortunately I was able to since this is where they store the liberty bell. They also had a 45 star flag from the 1800’s on display. There were some of the best views of the city from the front doors of the capitol too.
I had bad luck getting to the train on time on my way back. I kept just missing it. I ended walking further than I expected. I ended my night at The West Side Tavern & Cold Beer Store. This is where they brew Wasatch and Squatters beer. I was only planning on staying here for a little bit, but I one of the burgers on the menu sounded awesome. It absolutely was. They had some good beers too. One of my favorites is made here Nitro Polygamy Porter. A couple sat down near me and we started chatting it up and I hung out with them for another hour.
