I got up early today because there was a lot that I wanted to see. I ended up walking all over downtown Chicago and spending a lot of time on trains. I started by going to the Frank Lloyd Wright section of town and looking at all of the houses that he designed in the area. His house and studio were also in this area. This was definitely the rich part of Chicago. Most of the houses were huge old mansions or FLW houses.

After walking around that section of the city I hopped on the train and went downtown. On my way downtown I stopped at the Goose Island Brewery. They were having a release party for one of their beers and were giving away Jamaican pasties. The food was really good and I tried the new beer and it was ok. They weren’t doing tour until the weekend so I missed out on that.

The last time I was here I didn’t go to either of the baseball stadiums so the first spot I hit up was Wrigley Field. I walked around the stadium, took a few pictures, then hopped back on the train. I rode down to the South side and stopped at Guaranteed Rate Field, home of the White Sox.

After walking around there for a while I figured I’d look up how much tickets were for the Cubs game. I wasn’t expecting to go, but I found awesome tickets for $12. I had to snag them and then I had to schlep all the way back to the other side of the city to go to the game. I got there late, but I didn’t care with the tickets being so cheap. I was able to watch about half of the game and the Cubs pitch their first no-hitter in years. It was really fun and I’m glad I went.

After the game I walked around downtown and took some pictures of the fountain that I didn’t get to see running last time and the skyline. Chicago is a great city. I enjoy it every time I’m here.
