Today was a museum day. I started my day going to the Mines Museum of Earth Science on the School of Mines campus in Golden, CO. This was a small museum, but they had a lot of cool gems and minerals on display.
My next stop was the Colorado Railroad Museum. They close at 5PM and I left the other museum at 4. I figured I had plenty of time to see everything. I got stuck at a railroad crossing ironically. This five car train kept going back and fourth and stopping at the crossing. I was stuck there for 15 minutes before it finally moved out of the way. I did end up having just enough time to see everything.
The railroad museum was really interesting. They had lots of different engines and cars on display. The restoration shop had windows so you can watch them work on the trains. They had a turntable. I haven’t seen one of those in person before. Finally they had a huge model railroad that was amazingly detailed. I highly recommend both of these museums.
Over Yonder Brewing was having their last week of trivia tonight before they close on Sunday. I tied for last as I bet all of my points and got one of the halves of the question wrong. There weren’t any prizes as they were closing in a few days so it was all for funsies. I used my $20 from last week and they gave me a free beer for helping set up trivia.
