Hey everybody, I’m back on the road!
I went to Minneapolis today to visit some friends before heading South. Before meeting up with Ryan and Nick I went to a few breweries. The first one was North 20 Brewing. There were lots of kids running around so I stayed for two and got out of there.
The next brewery was Summit Brewing. I’m surprised that I haven’t been here before. It was still early so the brewery was dead. It’s has a pretty taproom and some exclusive beers that you can’t get anywhere else.
The last brewery for the day was Urban Growler. This place was packed. There were so many people I got out of there quick.
The main event for the day was the Minneapolis Oktoberfest. It was held at the fairgrounds. In the main hall they had beer hoisting, hammerschlagen, a band, and food. I watched the beer hoisting. The winner held it for over four minutes! Outside there were a few tents, a band, food trucks, beer, and a bunch of places to chill.
While waiting for the rest of the group to show up I walked around and stopped at a table. A couple guys came up and asked if they could share my table. I said of course and they shared their food to thank me. When the rest of the guys finally showed up we drank some beers, hung out, and listed to the band until they closed down.
