Happy International Palindrome Day! Today is the first time in 908 years that the date, 02/02/2020, can be read both forwards and backwards anywhere in the world. It doesn’t matter if you go MM/DD/YYYY or DD/MM/YYYY.
Anyway, after the museum yesterday I left for Flagstaff. I should’ve stayed another night in Albuquerque. I ended up driving at night and missing the first half of AZ, sad times. Once I got up today, I had lunch at Del Taco, did some shopping at Walmart, then went to Home Depot so I could fix my counter top. The magnet pulled out of the wood and I wasn’t able to keep it folded up.
After that I went to the Stockmans Club to watch the Super Bowl. I played in a bean bag tournament, lost first round, and then settled in for the game. The Stockmans Club was definitely a local old man dive bar. There was only around 20 people there and they all knew each other. Everyone was very nice though and asked my name. They had a potluck for food and a couple TV’s to watch the game. I bounced around hanging out with a couple groups until the game was over.
When the game ended the entire bar cleared out except for this old guy and his dog. I had started talking to the bartender around half time and posted up there when everyone left. The guy hung out for another half hour or so then it ended up being just me in the place. The bartender was awesome though. We had so much in common and were telling stories until almost 3 AM. Normally they would’ve closed around 10, but because I’m so charismatic we hung out all night.
