After leaving Miami on the 9th I drove up to West Palm Beach, FL and hung out there for a few days. On the 12th I went to Rachel’s Steakhouse. I had this place marked on my map for a while. I heard good things about the food. It also is a strip club. I went in at 5PM and they sat me right next to the stage. The place was dead. There were only a handful of people there, definitely more strippers than customers.

I went in on their steak special night so I didn’t have to spend a ton of money. I ordered the Australian Wagyu Ribeye and mashed potatoes. The steak is normally $110, but it’s half off on Wednesdays. While I was waiting for my food, of course two of the girls sat at my table and chatted me up. It feels weird for me to talk to people that really only want you to give them money.

The steak was amazing though. It’s probably one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. It came with bone marrow on the side. That had good flavor, but I’m not a fan of that texture. After I was done eating I paid the bill and bounced before the girls could come back and put on the hard sell.

On the 13th I drove up to Port St. Lucie, FL after giving plasma and I drove up to Cape Canaveral, FL the next day. While in Port St. Lucie I stopped at Ocean Republic Brewing. I got a flight since there was so much I wanted to try. Their beer was good and the venue was pretty neat too.

There happened to be a couple of SpaceX launches on the 14th. I parked at one of the beach lots so I could get a good look at the launches. I got there a few hours early so I put on a movie. I had checked the launch schedule before the movie to make sure I wouldn’t miss it. I was near the end of the movie and I hear the rocket. I ran out to the beach, but by the time I got there it was out of sight. They had launched early.

The next launch was at 2AM. I put on another movie and checked the countdown timer regularly. Ten minutes before the launch I grabbed a towel and went out to the beach. I was the only one out there, that was pretty neat. I found a place to sit and watched the stars until the horizon lit up. It took 30 seconds to a minute for the sound to reach me on the beach. I watched the rocket until the first stage broke off and it turned into just another point of light. Nothing will beat the time I got to see a launch from Johnson Space center. That was amazing. It was cool to see one at night though.

Yesterday I drove to Orlando, FL to watch the fights at a bar that wasn’t a Buffalo Wild Wings. I went to Winghouse Bar and Grill. They had some really good specials during the week and I think I’ll try their wing Wednesdays. I’m excited to leave for Las Vegas on Thursday. I would love to go to the Las Vegas Grand Prix, but tickets are outrageously priced.
