I got the new inverter installed, went to ValleyCon, and I’m back on the road. This years ValleyCon was a bust. I got there first and was pumped to be at the con again. I walked around and noticed that there wasn’t as many people as usual. There were only three party rooms this year too. Billy got there a bit later and we played BattleTech, which was fun, and Ashley showed up, then we started the party. By party, I mean walk around the few rooms, go to the “party” rooms, and then leave. The highlight of the evening was playing Beat Saber. We left to go to Billy’s by 11PM.

Yesterday was a saying goodbye and a driving day. Not very exciting. I got to Omaha in the evening.

I started the day getting lunch at the Round the Bend Steakhouse and then went to the Strategic Air Command & Aerospace Museum. This was a very cool museum with lots of different planes in it. The coolest ones were the B1 and the SR-71.

After the museum I went to downtown Omaha to see what there was to see. It turned into a beautiful 80 degree sunny day. It was perfect weather for a walk. I parked on the South side by the old train station. I first walked up through the Old Market Passageway the up to the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge.

After that I did the downtown walking tour. Unfortunately, the riverfront was under construction. The Spirit of Nebraska Wilderness sculptures were neat. They are a series of sculptures that stretch from the park, down a couple blocks, through buildings, and end at another park next to the First National Bank tower.

After seeing all of the cool stuff downtown I found myself thirsty and next to Upstream Brewing and Brickway Brewery. Brickway had trivia which was really fun.
