Today I visited the sites of Burlington. I started with a little hike up to the Ethan Allen Tower. This is a tower that was built by the citizens to commemorate Ethan Allen, but has nothing to do with him. Right around the corner was the Ethan Allen house. Ethan Allen was a Revolutionary War Patriot that was one of the founders of Vermont and captured Fort Ticonderoga. His house wasn’t very exciting.

Something that was at least somewhat exciting was the Ben and Jerrys Factory. Only somewhat because they weren’t doing tours and had strict Covid protocols. I got a cup of ice cream and walked around the grounds. The best part was the Flavor Graveyard. Here they put up actual gravestones with little epitaphs.

I pulled over as I went through Montpelier, VT to take a pic of the capitol. This was a tiny town.

The rest of the way to Farmington, ME was beautiful. I took the highway that goes through the White Mountains.
