We left Vail, CO to go check out Denver, CO today. We left Minturn around 11:30AM and stopped in Frisco, CO for lunch. We tried this Cajun place. The food was pretty good, but the waitress was terrible. Then we hit the worst part of the trip, I-80. It took two hours to drive 80 miles.
Once we got into town, we found a place to part to take the train into downtown. We went to the Hard Rock Cafe first to get a pin and found out that they were out of stock and to come back later in the week. That was a bummer, but I was going to be around anyway so it didn’t matter much.
We went to the capitol building and liberty bell next. We went to the Mint next, but they are closed on the weekends. Next, we headed back to the 16th St. Mall, Denver Pavilion, Opera house/performing arts buildings, Union Station, and Coors Field, Rockies stadium. We had supper at McGregor Square and watched part of the football game on the huge outdoor screen. We got back to the train and took that to Empower Field, Bronco’s stadium.
