Over these two days I explored Olympic National Park. I left Olympia and went to Ruby Beach. On my way out of town I passed a nuclear power plant. Ruby Beach was really pretty. I wished the weather was nicer, but this is how Washington is in the winter. I would’ve gotten pictures with some better lighting, but I after making supper I broke a brand new bottle of soy sauce on my floor. That took an hour or so to clean up. I’ll need to rent a carpet cleaner to get all of it out.

I thought I would get further into the park, but after the soy sauce fiasco I decided to stop for the night in Forks, WA. In the morning I got back on the road and went to the park visitors center in Port Angeles, WA. I encountered snow for the first time on my way through the mountains. The road up the ridge was closed for the winter so I went as far as I could then turned around. I went to Madison Falls to take a little walk through nature. The trail was really short, but it was beautiful.

After the falls I went to Port Angeles to walk around the town. I stopped at the ferry to find out how much it would cost to take the boat to Victoria island. To walk on round trip it was $45 and for the van it would’ve been ~$150. I am not paying that much to see a random town. I walked through downtown, stopped at a game store, and went back to the van. I wanted to see the Tacoma Narrows Bridge during the day so I stopped for the night in Bremerton, WA. I stopped at Crane’s Castle Brewing for last call. They had really good beer and as usual I talked with the beertender until after close. She let me stay the night in their parking lot too.
