Today we worked our way down to San Diego, CA. We got out of LA around 11 and hit the PCH in San Clemente. We stopped in Oceanside, CA for a beer and food at Heritage Barbecue & Beer Co. Their building was really nice with great atmosphere.
We got down to San Diego around 5PM and decided that we wanted to brewery hop. We found an area on the North side that had a bunch within walking distance. The first spot we went to was White Labs Brewing Co. This place was recommended to me by a beertender in Las Vegas a couple years ago. It was very scientific. They had a breakdown of all of their ingredients and strains of hops. They put together pairings of different beers, which was unique.
The next stop was at Ballast Point Brewing. Ballast Point is a nationwide brewery so their building and setup was huge. The taproom was very nice and they seem to stay busy.
Next up was Division 23 Brewing. This was a tiny brewery with pool, darts, shuffleboard, and video games. They had a really good stout and we played shuffleboard. I dig this place.
Duck Foot Brewing Company was next on the list. They didn’t have much that I wanted so we only had one here.
Pure Project was the last brewery for the night. They were another small setup, nice though. The two that I was able to get before close were good.
Our final stop for the night was at Brewski’s Bar & Arcade. This place was so much fun. They had a bar and arcade of course. I ended up playing pool all night and we camped out in the parking lot.
