I went to my grandma’s in LaMoure, ND with my parents for Christmas. There was an ice storm on the way so it was just my uncle, his wife, grandma, my parents, and me. Everything was going as usual. We were playing cards pretty much all day and around 11PM all of the sudden there is a crash and the house shakes.Throughout the day the ice kept coming down and accumulating on the trees. Finally the tree in the front of the house couldn’t take it anymore and the major limbs split coming down inches from the picture window with part of if landing on the roof. My dad and I went outside to inspect. It was too dark to see the roof, but it didn’t look like there was any damage. We went out the next day and thankfully there wasn’t any damage.
The power went out several times as we were stuck in LaMoure over the next couple days. We finally went back to Fargo on the 27th. On the way home we saw several electrical poles snapped in half or the wires sagging to the ground.
That did suck
