It’s been a busy past few days. On the 8th I went to the Titan Missile Museum to check that out. When I got there I found out that you need reservations and they were booked for the day. Instead of doing that I took off to the Phoenix, AZ area. I got a hold of my cousin Courtney to see if I could fill my water tank at her place and visit. She said I could fill my tank, but between work and the kid she didn’t have time to see me. I got up to her place and started filling the water tank and then her husband got home. We talked for a bit before he had to get back to work.

After leaving Courtney’s’ I drove up to the area of the Waste Management Phoenix Open golf tournament. I was going to scout out a place to park for the 9th and I found out that they had free parking for the tournament. I ended up parking in one of the lots and just spent the night there.

On the 9th I got up around 10 and made it to the course around 11. They had bus service from the parking lots to the tournament. It was nice not to have to walk or get a cab to get there. The course was packed with people. I got a couple of $11 beers at the entrance, yuck, and started to walk the course. It had rained and ended the day early yesterday and the course was still really wet. There were lots of people falling down muddy hills.

I got to the 13th hole and found a good spot to sit and watch the players. I sat there for a couple hours. I was able to see Schleffler and Matsuyama along with a bunch of names I didn’t know. After a while I got up and continued around the course. As I got close to the 17th hole the crowds started getting thick. When I got to the stadium seating for the 18th it was like a sea of people. I didn’t hang around long before I had to get out of there. I ended up staying at the course until about 4PM and then took the bus back. When I got back I made food and talked to the traffic control girls before getting out of there. Overall it was fun, but I wouldn’t go back to that tournament. There was too many people and everything was too expensive.

Yesterday I drove up to Las Vegas, NV. I started looking for something to do for the night and I found a heavy metal bar, Count’s Vamp’d Rock Bar & Grill. They were having an Avenged Sevenfold cover band playing for free. That sounded awesome so I went and had a blast. I even met a guy that was originally from Grand Forks, ND.

Today was the big game. I got tickets when I was back in Fargo for the viewing party at the Downtown Container Park. This is the same event that I went to last year with Ashley. It was a good time. There were about as many people as last year. It started getting chilly after the sun went down and I ended up standing by a heating lamp for half of the game. I think I came out about even for my bets on the game. I can’t believe so many starters sat most of the game. After the game I walked around downtown to see the craziness. There were so many people downtown that I didn’t even want to try to get to the strip. I ended up just going back to the van for the night.
