I spent the day touring Boulevard Brewing Company. I’m glad I spent the little extra to do the Unfiltered tour. We started off doing an in depth tasting of Tank 7. The guide had us explore different smells and flavors before tasting the beer and then he asked us what flavors we could pick out.
Next, we walked through the old part of the brewery and our guide explained how the original owner built and/or installed all the equipment himself and lived in an apartment above the brewery. Or next stop was across the street in the new brewhouse. Here we stopped in an event room and they explained the beer making process to us and gave us another sample. We walked through the new brew area and to the scenic balcony that looks over the river and downtown.
After everyone took their pictures they brought us back to the event room and let us pick a new beer to drink. They ushered us to a hallway that overlooked the bottling plant and explained how all of that worked. We hung out up there to ask our final questions and finish our beer before heading back to the taproom to get another beer of our choice and then we were free to leave.
The Unfiltered tour is one of my favorite brewery tours that I’ve ever done. I looked into the super expensive Anheuser Busch tour, but they only offer it a couple days per year.
After taking a nap I started my trip back home to Fargo.
