I decided to bounce out of Vegas, for a while at least, and cruised down to Yuma, AZ yesterday. I got up today and went downtown for the BBQ and Brews Festival. It was more like a street fair than a food festival. There were a several BBQ places, but there wasn’t much as far as “brews”. It was still fun.
I found a place that for $20 they gave pulled pork, brisket, sausage, a Texas Twinkie, and mac n cheese. It was all really good and there was so much of it. After eating I went to the brewery that is downtown, Prison Hill Brewing Company. This place was packed when I got there and it took a few minutes to get a beer. They had a few good ones though and for half pours it was decently priced.
After the brewery I walked the rest of the festival then over to Gateway Park and the Yuma Territorial Prison. The prison was neat. It’s an old 1870’s prison. I didn’t pay the $10 to go in, but I got to see the graveyard and the outside of the buildings.
