It’s been a slow couple of weeks since my last update. I’ve gone to a couple new breweries, played some golf, went to trivia. Since I have to be in Daytona every Tuesday, I’ve set up shop Sanford, FL. Sanford is about a half hour away from Daytona and I love the downtown there.

On the 3rd I went to The Worlds Most Famous Brewery to grab a couple beers after golfing. I’ve been here before, but didn’t get good pictures of it though. The place was dead when I got there. People came in for a beer and would leave.

There was a dude outside with his little dog chilling at a table. Before he went outside he was at the bar with his buddy and we talked a bit. His buddy left and I was the only one inside so I went out to say hello. We talked for a bit and then he asked if i could watch his dog while he moved his car. I, of course, said yes. The guy was gone for 20 plus minutes, so the dog and I got to know each other. The beertender would pop out occasionally for a smoke and to talk. The guy eventually came back and then left almost immediately.

I stayed in Daytona until the 7th then went over to Sanford. on the 9th I went downtown to check out one of the breweries I hadn’t been to yet. Brewlando was a new brewery in the area, just a year old. They had good beers and I saw that they were doing trivia later that night.

After leaving Brewlando I walked down the block to Busters bar. They have a good beer menu, but I saw $1.50 Budweiser and found my happy hour bar. I went back to Brewlando around seven and got my stuff ready for trivia. There was a couple of people at the table next to me and I asked if I could join. We joined teams and crushed trivia.

At the end the girls husband came in and we all talked for a while. We started talking about Magic the Gathering and before we got our gift card he and I were off to another brewery to meet up with his friends and play until they closed. I was doing really well with one of their decks. We went next door to The Wet Spot to finish the night playing darts and pool.

Yesterday I got new tires put on my van. There was a terrible wobble in the steering for a couple weeks and I wanted to wait until getting new tires before spending money at a shop. The tires were supposed to be here last Tuesday, but one was delayed for a week so I postponed the install until yesterday.

I did my blood draw and then went to Walmart just to see if they had any earlier install times. I was, luckily, able to get in right away. I did some shopping until they were done and then went out to check everything over. My valve stem covers were all missing. I went back in and told the girl. She got the installer and he said they weren’t there in the first place. I sternly denied and the girl said to just give them to me. They tried stealing my covers. The installer came out and put the covers on and went back inside.

I checked the tire pressure because when I get oil changes here they never check the pressures. The fronts are supposed to be at 65 PSI and the back at 80 PSI. On the three they replaced they were all at 40 PSI. I go back in and tell the girl again. She comes out with a gauge and verifies that I was right. She tells me to drive around and they’ll fill them up. I drive around and tell they guy the fronts need to be at 65 and the back at 80.

He fills them them and I notice that my tire pressure light on my dashboard is on. I tell him and he verifies that they are supposed to be at 60 and 80. I say no, 65 and 80. He fills the fronts up and the light is still on. He then falls back to, “The light was on when it came in.” I was flabbergasted and told him that the light was not on and I was the one that drove it in. Then he says oh, it probably just needs to be driven around for a little while first. I said ok and drove around the Walmart parking lot for a mile until the light went off.

Every time I go to Walmart for an oil change or tires they try to screw me out of something. The cashiers don’t care about their jobs at all and the techs try to pawn the problems off on “the problem was there when it came in.” Unless you get a really good deal, never do auto work at Walmart.

My overhead lights crapped out on me last week. I ordered a new LED controller to see if that would fix it. I got everything prepped to solder the wires and my butane soldering iron wouldn’t start, sigh. I hand twisted the wires together to see if the controller fixed it and it did. I just covered the splices with shrink wrap and I ordered a new soldering iron.

The iron showed as delivered the other day and when I went to pick it up. The package was really light and thin, so I got my camera out to video myself opening it. I opened a sealed package with nothing inside. I submitted a claim to Amazon and they shipped a new one out. I picked it up today and found out that it wasn’t battery powered like I thought. Sigh. I guess that’s another return and reorder. I found a battery powered one that was $10 less anyway. It’ll be here tomorrow and hopefully get everything buttoned up and working.

I guess more than I thought happened in the last two weeks.
